LECOUR is the evolution of The Caviar of Body Art — where original hand-painted art on skin becomes timeless wearable fashion.
Based on the island of Maui, Hawaii, artist LECOUR (also known as JD or The Caviar of Body Art) has been perfecting his craft for over 20 years. He pioneered a proprietary technique of creating “live” body art outfits using the human form as canvas, pushing the boundaries of fashion and performance art.
In 2001, JD began on Front Street in Lahaina, designing semi-permanent tattoos with Jagua ink for travelers from around the world. His work quickly gained recognition, leading to private poolside residencies at the Four Seasons Resort on Maui and Lanai. His bold, artistic approach soon caught the attention of celebrities and high-profile clients.
Driven by a vision to make his art more permanent, he developed removable high-fashion body painting techniques. This led to unforgettable moments including touring with Snoop Dogg, creating custom pieces for major events, and performing live body art at red carpets and private parties.
In 2021, LECOUR made his runway debut at Vancouver Fashion Week, producing a critically acclaimed underwater fashion film featuring six fully hand-painted couture outfits — a groundbreaking fusion of body art and film.
Today, LECOUR remasters these original painted designs into exclusive wearable collections — bringing the spirit, detail, and soul of the original body art onto fabric for the first time.
This is more than fashion.
It’s a living language of art.
Welcome to LECOUR.
